چکیده

Abstract The “carpal boss” is a variant present in 19% of the population according to cadaveric studies but becomes symptomatic only 1% cases. With rising popularity “yoga,” which includes prolonged hyperextension at wrist joint with weight bearing, an increasing number individuals silent carpal boss dorsal pain due impingement over soft tissues by this innocuous bony protuberance. This warrants attention radiologists and clinicians while dealing pain. It can be challenging identify bossing on routine radiographs, necessitating special views. We describe use dynamic ultrasound diagnosing “symptomatic” boss, effects become even more evident imaging during hyperextension—the triggering movement.

Relationship between dorsal ganglion cysts of the wrist and intraosseous ganglion cysts of the carpal bones.

Soft tissue ganglion cysts are the most common benign tumours of the wrist; their pathogenesis remains controversial. We prospectively screened the radiographic appearance of the wrists of 51 patients presenting to a single surgeon with dorsal wrist ganglions during a one-year period. Postero-anterior and lateral radiographs were systematically performed looking for possible associated intraoss...
